Chicken Techa Masala

A good time was had by all at the 4th monthly Devops Curry Night in London - a chance for technically-minded folk to get together over a curry and a few beers, and talk about servers and software and science fiction. This month, sysadmin entrepreneur David Mytton from Boxed Ice dropped in to talk about Server Density, what makes a good server monitoring product, blogging, SEO, and other fascinating topics. Also in attendance were sysadmin/devop Will Pink from jobsgopublic, Lisp hacker Donald Fisk, Python hacker Andy Nelis and special guest, information designer Matt Gourd.

If you couldn't make it this time, don't worry - it's happening again next month. Watch this space for details!

London DevOps Curry Nights

The London DevOps Curry Nights are social meetups in London (clue's in the name, I know) for developers, sysadmins, and other technical types who like curry (or omelettes with big chips). We'll try and have one every month or so, depending on when people can make it, or whether they ate too much curry last time.

London DevOps Curry Night - Thursday April 8th 2010

Bringing together developers, sysadmins, and poppadoms

A social evening for sysadmins, developers, and the women who love them. (Or men obviously.) If you work in IT, love Unix or Macs, write code, enjoy open source products, or even if you just used to own a Spectrum when you were a kid. All are welcome to join us at the London DevOps Curry Night, Thursday the 8th of April 2010, at Lord's Restaurant in Whitfield Street (near Warren St tube):

We will meet at the restaurant around 8pm, though we'll be assembling in the nearby Smugglers Tavern from 7pm if you want to drink up an appetite!

Comment here or email me at john@bitfieldconsulting.com if you'd like to come - it would be good to have an idea of numbers. We usually have a diverse and interesting array of guests (as we did in March) so all are welcome, whether you self-identify as dev, ops or allied trades and miscellaneous.
